Fitness plays such an important role in my life, and an integral part of my golf structure, that I think I might be quite good at teaching others the benefits of sports and fitness
— Rory Mcllroy
I’m sure you know that being ‘fit’ has its perks in day-to-day life, for instance it becomes much easier to climb multiple flights of stairs, you feel more confident, people tend to respect you more and most importantly, you look better on the beach. Similarly, being a fit golfer makes this incredibly tiring sport so much easier; instead of playing it safe and trying to scramble for a par on the 18th, you will now have the confidence to be able to go for the birdie and (hopefully) sink the putt.
Obviously, the golf swing is an athletic movement, and simple physics dictates the more torque created by the rotation of the body, the more club-head speed you will be able to generate, and therefore the further you will hit it.

Really well written and informative blog. Particularly fascinating how all elements of fitness link and contribute to overall improvements in the game. Looking forward to reading future posts.
