Some key terms and definitions

Face angle: The direction the face is pointed relative to the target line measured during point of maximum compression

Club path: The direction that the club head is moving relative to the target line measured during point of maximum compression

Face to path: Club path – Face angle (measured at point of maximum compression)

Spin axis: The degree to which the axis that the ball spins around is tilted measured at point of maximum compression

Spin rate: The rate of which the golf ball rotates on its axis once it leaves the club face measured at point of maximum compression

Impact Offset: The horizontal distance from the geometric center of the club head to the point of contact with the ball

Launch Direction: The angle between the target line and the horizontal launch of the ball

Curve: The horizontal distance from the launch direction to the ‘side’

Side: The horizontal distance from the target line to the place where the ball lands on the ground

Side total: The horizontal distance from the target line to the place where the ball rolls and fully stops on the ground
